Comcast is connecting more than 300 previously unserved homes and businesses in Candia and Claremont to high-speed Internet from America’s smartest and most reliable converged network. These line extension projects are part of awards from the State of New Hampshire’s Broadband Matching Grant Initiative (BMGI). BMGI funds broadband infrastructure projects aimed at delivering high-speed Internet to unserved and underserved locations – places expansion was previously not economically feasible. As part of BMGI, Comcast was also awarded funds for projects in Milton which is currently in the construction phase and Lyndeborough which was completed in 2023.

“Thanks to the partnership with the State of New Hampshire’s Broadband Matching Grant Initiative, we’re able to reach even more residents in Candia and Claremont with our high-speed Internet and full suite of Xfinity services,” said Carolyne Hannan, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s New England Region.

Construction began this month, paving the way for the first homes in Candia and Claremont to be connected and sign up for Xfinity products and service next month. Once the projects are completed next year, Xfinity services will be available to every household across the towns. Xfinity brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and smart home services into one simple, seamless solution – giving customers more speed, savings, and control over their connected lives. Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability.

What It Means for New Hampshire

Comcast’s commitment to communities goes beyond building the network and aims to increase economic mobility for the local community and its residents. That’s why Comcast created Internet Essentials, a broadband adoption program that offers eligible households low-cost, high-speed Internet and affordable computers.
