Big news for Aggieland! Comcast has officially launched Xfinity and Comcast Business services in Bryan-College Station.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the first customers in the area were connected to the innovative Internet service provider’s brand-new fiber network, marking a major milestone for the company and the community.
To celebrate, Jerome Butler, Comcast Texas Region Vice President of Technical Operations, and Nicolas Jimenez, General Market Manager for Bryan-College Station, joined the field services team to personally welcome the first two customers, Jalyn Williams and Haylee Fetti, with gifts, goodies, and some fun surprises.

Williams, a passionate gamer and busy dad of four, was thrilled to finally have reliable, high-speed internet that can keep up with his household’s needs. “With the kids doing schoolwork and gaming, we needed something fast and dependable,” he said.

Fetti, who works remotely, shared her excitement too: “I’m looking forward to multi-tasking with the family. This is an exciting time to be among the first customers to connect to Xfinity.”
Comcast announced earlier this year that it would begin installing more than 1,000 miles of fiber – enough to stretch from College Station all the way to Universal Studios in Florida – to bring high-speed internet to 70,000 homes and businesses in the area.
“This is a huge moment for us,” said Jimenez. “It’s the first time in 15 years we’ve expanded our physical network outside of the Greater Houston media market coverage area. Families and businesses here will now have access to our full suite of services – from Xfinity Internet and Mobile to Comcast Business.”

Tyrel Sloan, Comcast Texas Partner Services Supervisor, added a personal touch: “What makes our service special is our people. We live here, our families are here, and we’re committed to being great neighbors.”
Connections will roll out in phases, bringing fiber internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services to more neighborhoods over time. The excitement around town is building.
Williams summed it up best: “Thanks to the Xfinity crew for getting us connected. I’ll be telling my friends to sign up ASAP!”
